Tool input

The Text Cleaner and Remove Line Breaks tools run entirely in your web browser. When you paste or type text and press the main button:

  • the text is read from the input box by a script that is already part of the page;
  • it is transformed in your device’s memory;
  • the result is written to the output box.

The text-cleaning functionality does not transmit your input or output to this site’s server or to anyone else. The text is not written to browser storage, is not placed in the page address, and is not included in any analytics event. It is discarded when you close or reload the tab. A file you download is created by your browser from text already in the page.

The Find and Replace fields are treated the same way: used for the current run and never saved.

Local storage

So that the tools open the way you left them, your option choices are saved in your browser’s local storage under two keys:

  • textfixerr.settings.v1 — the Text Cleaner’s checkboxes and selections;
  • textfixerr.linebreaks.v1 — the Remove Line Breaks mode, separator choice and two checkboxes.

These contain settings only, never the text you cleaned. They stay on your device and are not sent to the server. You can delete them at any time with the “Reset options” button in each tool, or by clearing site data in your browser.

Clipboard

The Paste button reads your clipboard, and the Copy button writes to it, only at the moment you press them. Your browser may ask for permission. The site cannot read your clipboard at any other time. If you decline, you can still paste and copy with the keyboard.

Server logs

Like almost every website, this one is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers automatically record basic technical details of each request: the IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, and the browser’s user-agent string. These logs are used to keep the service running and secure. They do not contain anything you type into the tools, because that text never reaches the server.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how many people visit and which pages they use. Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. Google Consent Mode starts with analytics and advertising storage denied. The Google Analytics tag is not requested and no analytics event is sent unless you actively choose “Allow analytics”.

In addition to page views, the site records four tool events:

  • that a clean was run, with the name of the preset;
  • that a preset was selected, with its name;
  • that a result was copied, with the name of the tool;
  • that line breaks were removed, with the name of the mode.

These events contain only those names. They never contain your input, your output, clipboard contents, Find and Replace text, or anything derived from them.

Your choice is saved in your browser under textfixerr.analytics-consent.v2. Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to grant or withdraw analytics consent. Withdrawing consent prevents later analytics events and removes this site’s Google Analytics cookies from the current browser.

With the same permission, SitePulse separately receives the page path, event time, referring hostname and a random session ID kept only in page memory for up to 30 minutes. It records page views and fixed actions such as cleaning, copying and downloading. Query strings, fragments, pasted text, cleaned output and file contents are never included. Raw events are retained for up to 30 days and aggregate counts for up to 365 days. Withdrawing analytics consent stops both services and clears pending SitePulse events.

Advertising

This site does not currently display advertising and does not load any advertising script. If advertising is introduced, this section will be updated first to name the provider and explain the cookies involved and your choices.

Cookies

The site’s own code does not set cookies; it uses local storage for tool preferences as described above. Google Consent Mode starts with analytics and advertising storage denied. Google Analytics is loaded only after you allow it through the analytics choice panel; it may then set _ga cookies to distinguish visits and sessions. You can withdraw that choice from “Privacy choices” in the footer or block/delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools continue to work without analytics.

Guides link to external references such as standards documents and product documentation. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

Children

The site is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your choices and rights

Because the site does not hold an account for you or store the text you clean, there is ordinarily nothing held about you to access or delete beyond the server logs and any data collected by the third-party services described above. Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights over personal data, such as the right to ask what is held, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its use. This policy is updated when the site changes in a way that affects it. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
